Armenian grandmasters win OAE tournament

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmasters Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian and Hrant Melkumyan participated in UAE-hosted Al Ain International Commercial Companies Chess Team Championship as a part of Mohd Rasool Khoori and Sons team. The team won gold, scoring 18 points out of 21 possible.

At Yerevan-hosted Andranik Margaryan Memorial, International Master Vladimir Belous (Russia) scored 7,5 points out of 11 to come 1st. International Master Hovik Hayrapetyan, FIDE Master Hovhannes Gabuzyan and IM Ashot Nadanian (Armenia) scored 6,5 points each to share 2nd-4th places.

Belous and Gabuzyan fulfilled their Grandmaster and International Master's norms respectively.
