  ANCA chairman renders Armenian-Turkish normalization impossible  January 24, 2012 - 18:15 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) believed final normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations impossible. Dwelling on adoption of the bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, Ken Hachikian noted it as “a major victory by Armenians worldwide, particularly Hay Dat representatives.” “Passage of the Genocide bill may prompt other states to follow France’s suit,” ANCA head told PanARMENIAN.Net . Regarding Turkish threats to break ties with France, Hachikian forecast short-term deterioration of bilateral relations, followed by Turkish attempts to step up cooperation with official Paris. On January 23, the French Senate passed the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial with 127 votes for 86 against. the draft law stipulates a 45,000 euro fine and a year in prison for anyone in France who denies this crime against humanity committed by the Ottoman Empire.
