U.S. official: America to keep fostering Armenian-Turkish rapprochement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin.

Development of Armenian-American relations was in focus of the meeting. Hailing Armenian government’s steps towards effective economy management, Mr. Rubin noted U.S. intention to continue fostering its further development. In this context, he stressed U.S. plan to contribute to the implementation of the second stage of Millennium Challenge Account, due to Armenia’s successful completion of the first one.

Dwelling on regional issues, Mr. Rubin noted that U.S. will continue fostering Armenian-Turkish normalization process, opening of border as well as highway and railway construction, governmental press service reported.
