IRANIAN PRESIDENT HOPES FOR PROBLEMS BETWEEN YEREVAN AND BAKU TO SETTLE BASED ON MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian-Iranian relations fit the interests of the two peoples, Iranian president Mohammad Khatami said at a meeting with minister of energy of Armenia Armen Movsisian, "ITAR-TASS" agency reported. M. Khatami noted that stability and peace in the region are extremely important for all states. At that M. Khatami expressed hope for problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan to be solved based on mutual understanding and free will. "Teheran and Yerevan come against presence of foreign military forces in the region, as it destabilizes the situation in the region," the Iranian president added.
