EU launches free trade zone formation talks with Armenia![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union begins talks with Armenia on formation of free trade zones aimed at boosting investments in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) member-states. The talks will cover issues related to creation of transparent and modern trade environment, EU press service reported. "The opening of free trade negotiations marks a turning point in our trade relations with Armenia. We are entering a new phase that will bring our economic ties to a new level of depth and ambition", EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said. "This is a further sign of the strengthening of our political and economic ties," Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle stated. Free trade zone formation makes a part of the Association Agreement. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance.
