SAN FRANCISCO COURT TURNED DOWN TURKISH ORGANIZATIONS' CLAIM TO REMOVE BRASS FROM MONUMENT TO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Supreme Court of San Francisco turned down the claim of the Turkish organizations urging to remove the brass from the monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. As reported by Voice of America broadcasting station, the cross-shaped monument was erected in one of the city parks in 1998. The brass at the foot of the monument says: "This cross is to honor the memory of 1,5 million of Armenians, who were killed by order of the Turkish government in 1915-18". Having declined the suit of the Turkish organizations, Paul Alvardo, the judge, stressed that the contents of the legend do not conflict with the spirit and letter of the law.
