GEORGIAN LEADERSHIP ATTENTIVE TO PROBLEMS OF ARMENIAN COMMUNITY

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian NA Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan received deputies of the Georgian parliament Melik Raisyan, Hayk Meltonyan, Hamlet Movsesyan, Henzel Mkoyan and Van Bayburt. The parties discussed the issues referring to the Armenian-Georgian relations. They noted that according to the agreement achieved during A. Baghdassaryan's visit to Georgia, the Ministers of Education of Georgia and Armenia met to discuss the compiling textbooks for the Armenian schools and other problems of the system of education. The RA NA Speaker noted that the problems of Armenians in Georgia are in the limelight of the Armenian parliament. According to the agreement, Nino Burjanadze and Artur Baghdassaryan will visit Samtskhe-Javakhetia to familiarize with the situation at the scene. Chairman of the Armenian parliament noted the importance of constant contacts between the RA NA and the Georgian deputies of Armenian origin. The deputies said they have drawn the attention of the Georgian leadership to the problems of the Armenian community and to the necessity of working out special programs.
