10 Opposition Activists Went on Hunger Strike

PanARMENIAN.Net - The rally of the united opposition is holding a rally at the territory adjacent to the Depository of Ancient Manuscripts of Matenadaran. As PanARMENIAN.Net reporter informed from the scene of action, 10 opposition activists went on hunger strike, which will last until Robert Kocharian resigns. Meanwhile leader of the National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukyan stated that it's not time for such action yet. In his words, "the opposition activities will exclude the necessity of the parliamentary and presidential election in 2007."



For his part, Hanrapetutyun party leader Aram Sargsyan stated that the "first stage of the consultations with international organizations has been already launched. In his words, opposition representatives met with 6 Ambassadors of foreign states to Armenia. Aram Sargsyan "called the nation to patience and asked for time for the organization of further activities." To note, about 3 000 people gathered at Matenadaran today. The next rally is scheduled for December 9.
