EU Ready to Assist to Peaceful Resolution of Karabakh Issue in Every Way

PanARMENIAN.Net - The EU is interested in peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and is ready to assist in every way, EU Troika delegation leader, Austrian State Secretary Hans Winkler stated at a news conference in Yerevan. In his words, protraction of the settlement hampers regional development. "Only the parties to Karabakh conflict can solve the issue and if they ask us for assistance, it will be provided immediately," he said.

Touching upon the issue of opening of the Armenian-Turkish border and recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey, Winkler remarked that Armenia having a clear stance in the issue and wishing to normalize Armenian-Turkish relations is very important to the EU.
