FORUM OF SECURITY COUNCIL SECRETARIES OF TREATY ON COLLECTIVE SECURITY PARTICIPANT COUNTRIES OPENING IN BISHKEKDecember 9, 2002 - 19:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 5-th sitting of the committee of security council secretaries of the Treaty on Collective Security (TCS) participant counties will open in Bishkek December 10-11. As the Armenian defense ministry press service told "Arminfo" agency, Armenia would be represented at the sitting by advisor of the defense minister, colonel Hayk Kotanjian. According to Russian sources, the sitting participants will focus on questions of international and regional security, including the situation in Iraq. The committee will discuss the implementation of the decisions passed at the sitting of the Council of Collective Security in Moscow this May. These concern the development and strengthening of the military component of the TCS and conferring status of international regional organization to it. In the course of the meeting matters of interaction in the sphere of struggle against international terrorism, illegal drug circulation, transnational organized crime and questions touching the interests of the national security of TCS countries will also be discussed.
