Azeri Leadership Won't Break Economic Ties with France because of Turkey

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azeri public is always being called to strategic union with Turkey and these calls are valid, deputy chairman of the National Front Party of Azerbaijan Fuad Mustafayev said. "We are natural allies. However now it's hard to speak of unclouded relations between the two states now. First, the Turkish authorities eye Azerbaijan not as a strategic partner but as source of enrichment. Besides, Azerbaijan's low reputation abroad decreases the attractiveness of our country for Ankara. Owing to a number of inner problems the opinion of Azerbaijan is not heard abroad. Turkey can derive economic benefit from Azerbaijan. To be precise, it has already derived. Although the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan is not so vitally important for Turkey as for Georgia, it means much nevertheless," he emphasized.

The Azeri politician considers that the political constituent is not significant in the Baku-Ankara relations. He is convinced that Azerbaijan will not go beyond declarative statements in support to Turkey. "Pay attention to the fact that the relations between Azerbaijan and France are much better than the Turkey-France relations. Baku will try to take a neutral stand. I do not think that the Azeri authorities will break ties with France because of Turkey. No big problems are expected between Paris and Baku," Mustafayev said, reports analitika.az.
