Turkish Chief of Staff tries to stop discussions over Armenian Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - It is expected that Turkish Chief of Staff General Yasar Buyukanit during his official visit to the United States will meet with U.S. Congress Committee on Foreign Relations head Tom Lantos. The focus of this meeting will be the Armenian Genocide bill introduced in the Congress. It is anticipated that Buyukanit will stress to Lantos that the possible acceptance by the U.S. Congress of this bill could have a serious impact on relations between Turkey and the U.S., including logistical support which has been extended thus far by Turkey to U.S. forces fighting in Iraq, Hurriyet reports.
