EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS NOT TO DEAL WITH KARABAKH SETTLEMENT DIRECTLY

PanARMENIAN.Net - European Union (EU) special representative for the South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie stated in Yerevan today he will not engage the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement directly. In the Finnish diplomat's words, as reported by "Mediamax" agency, if needed, he will contribute to the OSCE Minsk group mediation format. Talvitie noted, "the solution to the conflict should be found in the region and international organizations can only promote implementation of agreements achieved." It should be reminded that the newly appointed EU special envoy to the South Caucasus was co-chair of the Minsk conference over the Nagorno Karabakh issue in 1995-1996.
