Eastern Partnership offers new ways of cooperation with post-soviet states

PanARMENIAN.Net - German Minister of State for Europe Günter Gloser said all Eastern Partnership issues will be settled during the EU summit on March 19-20.



The goals of the Eastern Partnership will be determined in Prague on May 7, according to him.



Besides security issues, the initiative offers new ways of cooperation with post-soviet states, including association agreements and development of trade relations," Mr. Gloser said.



The Eastern Partnership targets six former soviet republics - Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and, provisionally, Belarus.



It is meant to complement the Northern Dimension and the Union for the Mediterranean by providing an institutionalized forum for discussing visa agreements, free trade deals and strategic partnership agreements with the EU's eastern neighbors.
