Armenians and Azeris should develop Karabakh resolution formula

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Nagorno Karabakh conflict is on the agenda of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's impending visit to Baku, said a spokesman for the RF MFA.

Andrey Nesterenko said the Moscow Declaration signed by the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on November 2, 2008 offers new possibilities for resolution of the conflict.

"Russia welcomes intense talks and will assist the process as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. Our position is unchangeable: decision of Karabakh should be taken by Armenians and Azeris. Russia will be the guarantor of any compromise agreement," he said in a statement posted on the RF MFA website.
