Azerbaijan not to sign CIC Energy Council's "road map"May 29, 2009 - 23:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan will not sign CIS Energy Council's "road map" because it's not a State Party to the CIS Treaty on Common Energy Market, Azerenergy JSC Vice President Marlen Askerov said during CIS Energy Council's 35th session organized in Baku."Azerbaijan does not have to sign the agreement because it's already prepared for creating such market," Askerov said. Azerbaijan is ready to sign the environmental monitoring agreement, but the word market should not be included in the Council's decision on road map, he added. During the session, parties also proposed that electric energy ecological monitoring be conducted for 2008. The 2007 monitoring on the realization of environmental road map was conducted among 7 member states. Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia refused to participate in monitoring.
