"VIRK" PARTY UNIFYING ARMENIANS OF GEORGIA STATES ACTIVATION OF CRIMINAL ELEMENTS IN JAVAKHETIA IN INTEREST OF TURKEY

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Virk" party operating in the Georgian Samtskhe-Javakhetia province populated by Armenians has come out with a statement on activation of criminal elements in the territory. The statement noted that the situation is advantageous to those, who try to attain political destabilization in the territory. A supposition is expressed that the aggravation of the situation favorable for criminals is due to the problem of return of the Turk-Meskhetians to Javakhetia. The statement says that the provocation of the Armenian-Georgian clashes is in the interests of the neighboring Turkey. "It is not a secret that realizing the strategic importance of Javakhk Turkey always tried to take the region under its control, - the document says. - At the time of the Soviet Union Turkey was deprived of the opportunity to influence the region, but after the collapse of the USSR the ground became beneficial for Turkey. The connivance of the Georgia authorities contributes to it… Today Akhaltsikhe is in the epicenter of the clashes of the strategic interests of different countries. And the conflicts of criminal nature, which happen here, are the covert expression of the struggle of these interests," - the statement of "Virk" accentuates. The party expressed its disturbance with activation of criminal elements in Akhaltsikhe, which may become "a serious cause of Armenian-Georgian collisions the ages-long friendship of the two peoples will suffer from." "Virk" party calls upon the Georgian and Armenian population of Akhaltsikhe to resist the provocation and maintain the friendly relations between the two peoples and states.
