ARMENIAN-AMERICAN GROUP MEETS WITH SENIOR WHITE HOUSE OFFICIALS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The other day the meeting of Armenian-American leaders and senior government officials took place. The purpose of the meeting was to brief Armenian-American leaders on foreign policy issues in the South Caucasus and particularly Armenia. Senior Advisor to the President Karl Rove, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European and Eurasian Affairs Dan Fried, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Lynn Pascoe and National Security Council Director for the Aegean, Caucasus, and Central Asia Matt Bryza briefed the group. Among the issues discussed were development of Turkish-Armenian relations, perspectives of the Armenian Genocide recognition, the Nagorno-Karabagh peace process and U.S. military assistance to Armenia. The Administration of Bush was the initiator of the meeting holding.
