CONSTRUCTION OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE TO START AFTER FINISHING ARMENIAN-TURKMEN TALKS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Realization of the project of construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline will start after the Armenian-Turkmen negotiations are finished. "Arminfo" agency reports making reference to "Liberty" radio station, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran in Yerevan Mohammad Farhad Koleyni stated it. Let us note that earlier Armenia studied the opportunity of the Iranian gas supplies to the internal market. But due to the high prices of the Iran blue fuel the Armenian side considers Iran as a transit territory to furnish the Republic with Turkmen gas, which is cheaper than the Iranian. Turkmenistan is already supplying gas to the northern regions of Iran. After finishing construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline the Republic will begin importing relatively inexpensive Turkmen gas.
