TURKS HAVE FORGIVEN ASKAR AKAEV FOR HIS STATEMENT BLAMING THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - . The Government of Turkey has presented the Ministry of Defense of Kirgizstan a grant of 866 milliard Turkish liras. The document on rendering non-repayable aid was signed in Bishkek yesterday. The decision of the Turkish authorities on giving assistance to the armed forces of Kirgizstan is noteworthy if we take into consideration the fact that a year and a half ago some problems appeared in relations between Ankara and Bishkek. The actions of President of Kirgizstan Askar Akaev, who had laid flowers on the monument of the victims of the Genocide during his state visit to Yerevan and made a public statement condemning the Armenian genocide committed in Turkey, roused indignation in Turkey. Experts suppose that the grant given to develop the armed forces of Kirgizsan is nothing but a way to prevent the possibility of such statements in future.
