SPAIN TO ASSIST ARMENIA'S INTEGRATION TO EUROPE

Spain, which will hold the presidency in the European Union in the first half of 2002, stands ready to render any possible assistance to Armenia on the path of integration to European structures, Spanish Secretary of State for European issues Ramon de Miguel said after his one-day visit to Yerevan at a Tuesday press conference.

Ramon de Miguel said the Government of Armenia takes real steps on the path of integration to Europe, and EU top foreign affairs officials who visited Yerevan recently observed this. At the same time, the Spanish diplomat said Armenia's problems with her neighbors hamper the rates of the economic development of the country. --0--
