ARMENIAN CITIZEN - VICTIM OF NOVEMBER 15 ACT OF TERRORISM IN BULGARIA - WAS SON OF FORMER PROSECUTOR GENERAL OF ARMENIA

Artashes Ter-Hovsepian, who died on November 15 as a result of the explosion in "Ambassador" hotel in Sophia, Bulgaria, was the son of the former Prosecutor General of Armenia. The Bulgarian police considered him as the leader of the Armenian mafia in Bulgaria.

The Russian "Segodnia" daily informs its readers that Artashes Ter-Hovsepian moved to Bulgaria yet in 1995, right after being released from prison. He was set free ahead of time, serving only half of the term. He was sentenced for 12 years of imprisonment for killing two employees of Yerevan's office of General Prosecutor.

"Mais Akhayian, well known to the Bulgarian law enforcement agencies as one of the leaders of the Armenian gang acting in Bulgaria, was Ter-Hovsepian's partner in Bulgaria. Under the information received from the criminal police department of Bulgaria, this group controls part of oil business and deals in extortion of money, financial machinations in insurance business and delivery of the Russian prostitutes to Bulgaria," "Segodnia" writes.
