YEREVAN WELCOMES SWISS PARLIAMENT PASSING RESOLUTION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - We welcome the Swiss National Council passing a resolution on the Armenian Genocide of 1915, press secretary of the foreign ministry of Armenia Hamlet Gasparian stated today when being asked by journalists to comment on Switzerland officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey and its impact on the Armenian-Turkish relations. In his words, the event became the outcome of longstanding efforts of political and public forces and the intelligentsia, as well as of Armenian organizations of Switzerland. "The international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is an individual and peculiar process, which has its logic, and we would not like it to be associated with the current dialogue between Armenia and Turkey," the spokesman of the foreign ministry of Armenia stated.
