MEASURES FOR STRUGGLE AGAINST TERRORISM IN CIS TERRITORY TO BE DISCUSSED IN SAINT PETERSBURG

PanARMENIAN.Net - The participants of the international conference to be held in Saint Petersburg November 14 will discuss the perfection of the CIS member-states' cooperation in the struggle against the international terrorism. The forum will be held on the initiative of the CIS states' leaders in accordance with the plan of measures for 2003-2004, Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Intergovernmental Assembly Mihkail Krotov told journalists today. As reported by RIA Novosti, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), leadership of the CIS anti-terror center, law enforcement structures and parliamentarian delegations will take part in the forum. Discussion of the measures for the activation of cooperation of the CIS law enforcement bodies for revealing, tracing and liquidation of the channels financing terrorist or any other extremist activity, and establishment of control over the sale of "Igla" and "Strela" anti-aircraft rocket complexes in the CIS member counties is as well expected.
