BAKU REFUSES FROM COOPERATION IN ENERGY SPHERE IN SOUTH CAUCASUS BY POLITICAL REASONS

PanARMENIAN.Net - With Nagorno Karabakh conflict not settled, cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the sphere of energy is inadmissible, Azerenergy company chief engineer Marlen Askerov told Interfax agency when commenting on the statement of RAO UES of Russia head Anatoly Chubays about the possibility of joint work of the South Caucasian energy systems. "UES of Russia offered us to reconstruct the power line between Armenia and Azerbaijan, however it is impossible until the Karabakh issue is resolved", - the chief engineer noted. Askerov emphasized that the refusal to interact with Yerevan before Nagorno Karabakh settlement is the official stand of the Azeri leadership.
