IN WORDS OF AZERI NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTER, BAKU FORCED TO ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH YEREVAN
Baku is forced to accept the idea of beginning economic cooperation with Yerevan, allegedly to eliminate hostility, to build confidence in the region. National security minister of Azerbaijan Namik Abbasov told "Echo" newspaper. At that he emphasized that "Armenia does not have many chances for succeeding." "As far as one of the parties poses territorial claims to the other, there can be no confidence between the parties, and one should not fall into illusions," the minister said. In his opinion, the Schengen agreement scheme: giving up territorial claims, establishment of confidence atmosphere might become a way out of the situation. Meanwhile, N. Abbasov felt perplexity over the policy of double standards, pursued by superpowers, and the strange stand of some media and politicians backing them.
