Upper Lars manager to be announced March 27

Georgia's Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said on March 26 that the company to monitor cargo transfer over the Georgian-Russian border has not been defined yet.

In line with the agreement reached between Moscow and Tbilisi over Russia's membership in WTO, a private Swiss company will undertake to carry out cargo monitoring at the border.

As a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter was informed in the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the name of the company will be announced during the visit of Georgian delegation to Switzerland on March 27.

Upper Lars checkpoint at the Georgian-Russian border provides the only direct land route between Armenia and Russia. Given Armenia's blockade by Turkey and Azerbaijan, the Upper Lars has a key role in the country's economic links with the external world.
