A new EU fiscal treaty designed to limit government overspending that the Czech Republic rejected is expected to be high on the agenda of talks between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Czech leaders, AP reported.

The 25 of the 27 European Union states have agreed on the deal they hope will restore investor confidence in the region.

Only the Czech Republic and Britain, both of which don't use the euro, decided not to endorse the accord.

The Czechs and Germans are also split over the future use of nuclear energy. While Germany has decided to phase it out following the nuclear disaster at Japan's Fukushima, the Czech government plans to build more reactors.

Merkel is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Petr Necas and Euro-skeptic President Vaclav Klaus on Tuesday, April 3.
