Coach names Armenian judokas who qualified for London Olympics

On April 10, Armenian judo squad will depart for Russian city of Armavir to conduct a joint team practice session with the Russian team.

In conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, assistant to the head coach of Armenia’s team Arthur Gevorgyan said that judokas mainly underwent physical and functional training.

“Though, some judokas have minor injuries, they will recover until the European championships,” he said.

According to the coach, the European Championships will be the last stage enabling sportsmen to win entry to London Olympics. Hovhannes Davtyan and Armen Nazaryan have already scored enough points to represent Armenia at the summer games.

The Armenian team will leave for Chelyabinsk, Russia on April 24, with Hovhannes Davtyan (60 kg), Armen Nazaryan (66 kg), Artyom Baghdasaryan (81 kg), Gayane Harutyunyan (48 kg) and Zhanna Stankevich (57 kg) to perform at the championships.
