Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha said CSTO member states coordinated their positions over the situation in Syria and Iran.

Following the meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers Council, Bordyuzha stated: “Today’s meeting was quite interesting in terms of content. We discussed most urgent problems, shared views on the issues in Afghanistan, situation in Iran, Syria, sanctions imposed on Belarus, as well as development of situation in Caucasus region.”

According to CSTO Secretary General, this allowed the member-states to “coordinate their positions, understand each other and devise actions aimed at coordinating joint efforts with regard to the threats faced by the states”.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian is taking part in the meeting of CSTO Foreign Ministers Council underway in Astana.
