Charles Aznavour to perform in New York

Widely regarded as the “French Frank Sinatra”, French singer of Armenian origin Charles Aznavour will give concerts in New York’s famous City Center.

Beloved French chanson entertainer Aznavour, who wrote more than 800 songs, recorded more than 1,000 of them in French, English, German and Spanish and sold over 100 million records in all, is going to give three concerts on April 26, 27 and 28 on NYCC Main Stage.

During a press conference at Ardani Artists producing company founded Sergei and Gaiane Danilian in 1990, maestro Aznavour was fit and charming as always, despite his age hitting 88 in May.

He told journalists he had not yet decided the song-list of the upcoming concerts saying he sings in many languages, and has yet to select the songs.

When asked why he is still on stage singing, while many of his coevals prefer resting and avoid stress, Aznavour promptly replied: “It is because I love to live”.
