Armenian youth unaware pension reforms importance- expert

Pension reforms in Armenia are called to ensure prosperous future for the country’s young generation in the retirement age, Chief of Party for the USAID Pension and Labor Market project (PALM) said.

“Youth bears greater responsibility for implementation of pension reforms that the state,” Rosa Chiappe said in conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

However, according to the head of the project, today’s young generation doesn’t acknowledge the importance of pension reform implementation to ensure prosperous future. Rosa Chiappe noted that an agreement has already been reached between the Central Bank and RA Ministry of Education and Science on conducting a training program at schools to raise awareness on the issue.

In the framework of USAID/PALM, USAID jointly with Pension System Awareness Center (PSAC) Foundation and NASDAQ OMX Armenia has organized a series of lectures for Armenian university students. This time the seminar-discussion was held at Yerevan State University (YSU).
