Istanbul 2020 bid leaders today, April 14 unveiled their youth-focused Olympic legacy vision, and the unequivocal government commitments in place to realize it, in their presentation to the Association of National Olympic Committees General Assembly in Moscow, according to keirradnedge.com.

Professor Ugur Erdener, President of the Turkish NOC, and the NOC Vice President, Hasan Arat, were presenting Istanbul 2020’s concept to the wider Olympic family for the first time. They were joined on stage by fellow bid team members Neslihan Demir Darnel (national team volleyball player, FIVB World Grand Prix MVP), Ayda Uluз (President of the Turkish Tennis Federation), Ali Kiremitзioрlu and Murat Ilbak.

Professor Erdener emphasized that Istanbul’s bid to host Turkey’s first ever Olympic and Paralympic Games is a national priority for the country’s government, and its people: “This bid is our nation’s primary goal. It is led by the Prime Minister and Mayor, who have activated their governments and have already provided broad guarantees. Nearly 90% of people in Istanbul and throughout the country support our bid. Without any marketing, more than five million in our city already say they would buy tickets to the Olympic Games.”
