ANC still seeks cooperation with Prosperous Armenia

The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) expects to see system changes in Armenia following the parliamentary elections, its member Vahagn Khachatryan running in the 8th constituency by majority system said.

Acording to Khachatryan, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian is ready to sign any document which will help prevent election forgery.

Opposition representative says it is natural to seek partners in pre-election period.

“It may be the Prosperous Armenia party, member of the coalition; we share the same opinion in some issues and are ready to cooperate with them,” Khachatryan told a press conference adding that ANC election program focuses on strengthening the democracy and eradicating the corruption.

Parliamentary elections are due in Armenia on May 6 featuring 8 political parties (Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
