Netherlands to host protest against Turkish President’s visit

On April 18, a protest will be staged in The Hague against Turkish President Abdullah Gül’s visit to the Netherlands.

Inge Drost, coordinator of Federation of Armenian Organizations of Netherlands (FAON) told PanARMENIAN that Kurds, Assyrians and Turks will also participate in the action.

The organizers will hold posters condemning Turkish policy towards national minorities, Genocide denial and allegations of violations of human rights and freedom of speech.

The President of Turkey will visit the Netherlands on the occasion of 400th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Ottoman Empire and the Netherlands.

Earlier, Armenian organizations issued a letter to the country’s parliament expressing protest against celebration of the date.
