Expert: only strong Armenia can promote Genocide recognition worldwide

Armenian Genocide recognition mustn’t be perceived as a key area of Armenia’s policy, a political analyst said.

Levon Shirinyan stressed ensuring the country’s security and recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic as priority areas resources should target.

The expert offers to abandon aspiration to achieve international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, instead building a country that will be able to advance the issue by itself.

“The sole correct path is to focus on strengthening of the country, consolidation of economy and development of the armed forces,” Mr. Shirinyan said, adding that Armenian Genocide recognition demands must include compensation and territorial claims,” Mr. Shirinyan said.

“Apart from Genocide perpetration, Turkey plundered and invaded our territories. Only strong Armenia can set forth such demands,” the expert said.
