OSCE MG former co-chair blames Baku for foiling Karabakh talks

Rossotrudnichestvo mission in Armenia hosted a sitting of Historic Parallels Russian-Armenian club.

At the event, the First Vice Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats, former co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Vladimir Kazimirov shared a report on Karabakh settlement process, as well as conflicting parties’ actions during the active phase of the crisis.

In his report, Kazimirov cited Azerbaijan’s refusal to fulfill the previously reached agreements as the main issue during the negotiations.

At June 24, 2011 meeting in Kazan, the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia failed to sign an agreement on basic principles of Karabakh conflict settlement. As Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian noted later, despite the OSCE MG co-chairs’ efforts, Azerbaijan was not ready to accept the final version of basic principles, presenting ten new amendments at the last moment.
