Silent Hill: Revelation 3D release date revealed

Open Road Films has slapped a U.S. release date on the upcoming horror flick Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, confirming the sequel will arrive in cinemas on October 26, PSU reported.

As the follow-up to the 2006’s Silent Hill, Revelation 3D stars Adelaide Clemens as 18-year-old Heather Mason, who finds herself drawn to the titular foggy town while investigating the disappearance of her father (Sean Bean).

Returning characters include Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) and Dahlia Gillespie (Deborah Kara), alongside newcomers including Claudia and Leonard Wolf, played by Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcom MacDowell, respectively.

The plot of the film loosely follows the events of Silent Hill 3, which saw teenager Heather Morris unearthing the shocking details of her origins.

"The film is a thrill ride that improves on the original in many ways," said the film's producer, Samuel Hadida.

"We take all audiences, new and old, deep into the world of psychological horror that is Silent Hill, and advance thestory for those familiar with the franchise. We are thrilled to have Tom and his terrific team at Open Road presenting our film to U.S. audiences."
