NEW MONUMENT TO VICTIMS OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY OPENED IN FRANCE
April 27 the opening of a monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey took place in Arnouville-les-Gones French town. As reported by the Press Service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Armenian Ambassador to France Eduard Nalbandian, city Mayor Michael Omas, state and political figures of France, numerous representatives of the Armenian community were present at the ceremony. In his speech Ambassador E. Nalbanian specifically noted that the newly-opened monument replenished the range of more than four monuments, opened in the territory of France, and which are a notable challenge to the policy of denial of the fact of the Armenian Genocide. He reminded the words of the French Minister of Justice that in compliance with the law, passed in France in 2001, those who denies the historical fact in question can be called to criminal responsibility. Simultaneous to the opening of the monument, Armenian Culture Days are held in Arnouville-les-Gones.
