Armenia’s chief Marxist embarks on solitary campaign, paper says

Ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections, chairman of Armenia’s Marxist party David Hakobyan embarks on a weird campaign, Zhoghovurd paper says.

Hakobyan nominated in 41st constituency takes the bus from Yerevan to the town of Ijevan, and heads for Tavush province for his election campaign all alone.

After Ijevan, he visits some nearby towns, meets with voters, and then comes back to Yerevan taking the same route, again on his own.

The country’s chief Marxist can often be seen nowadays in the bus station, paper says.

Zhoghovurd quotes Hakobyan as saying that “he goes to campaign with a full head, while candidate Hakob Hakobyan expected to rival him in the same constituency is meeting the voters with a full pocket.”
