Dr. Rosemary Hartounian to present her historical novel in Glendale

Glendale Public Library invites the public to a lecture and book signing with Dr. Rosemary Hartounian Cohen, on May 31.

The lecture is in English. The book will be reviewed by journalist Ari Noonan, and there will be an open discussion after the presentation with the author herself.

Dr. Rosemary Hartounian Cohen is a sociologist with a doctorate degree from the Sorbonne, Paris. She is an author, a journalist, and an artist who uses various mediums, including oil and charcoal; her specialty is silk painting. She is the founder and director of the Liana Cohen Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization which organizes music competitions and festivals, and encourages youth to study music and arts.

The Mother of Jerusalem is Crying is a sweeping historical novel that tells the interwoven stories of three families - Christian, Jewish and Muslim - over three generations and three continents.

The story describes their lives in terms of their traditions, triumphs and tragedies, and how they contended with the violence of the Armenian Genocide, the Holocaust and the founding of Israel.
