Prime Minister rejects YSLU rector’s application

Former rector of Yerevan State Linguistic University (YSLU) Suren Zolyan has tried to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Zolyan met with his students on April 20 saying he failed to meet the PM. He filed an application to the Prime Minister on April 11 which was cancelled by the head of the governmental administration.

The thing is that Zolyan applied using a YSLU letterhead signing it as the university’s professor; meanwhile, according to the officials, he should have applied as a citizen.

Following the meeting, several students of YSLU went to the governmental building to hand in Zolyan’s statement to the prime minister.

Earlier, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan signed a decree to dismiss Zolyan from his post.
