A single inter-party headquarters to counter election frauds intends to address the Constitutional court with a request to rule the point of the Armenian electoral code banning publication of voter lists as unconstitutional, President of the Political Analysts Union Hmayak Hovhannisyan said.

Signatures of 27 MPs are needed for appealing to the Constitutional court.

Prosperous Armenia representative Vahe Enfiajyan noted that 20 MPs from Prosperous Armenia are ready to put their signatures.

“As ARF Dashnaktsutyun member Armen Rustamyan didn’t participate in today’s meeting due to “technical reasons”, the number of ARFD MPs ready to sign the document is still unknown,” Mr. Hovhannisyan said.

Armenian National Congress (ANC) member, Levon Zurabyan stressed ANC’s support for the initiative, however, can’t join it as it is not included in the parliament.

Head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan noted his party MPs’ willingness to put their signatures.

Parliamentary elections, due in Armenia on May 6, feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
