Following the collapse of contests against Mikkel Kessler and George Groves, Robert Stieglitz will defend his world super-middleweight belt against WBO number 15 ranked contender Nader Hamdan on May 5, worldboxingnews.net reports.
The Russian-born German makes the sixth defense of his belt on the Marco Huck v Ola Afolabi II undercard at the Messehalle in Erfurt, with the Australian fighting in his first world title bout.
Hamdan, 38, has nine defeats in his 53-fight career, with five losses and a draw in his last nine bouts and on paper looks to be a routine defence for the 29 year-old champion, with the winner facing Arthur Abraham in the summer.
