New wine and brandy factory to open in Armenia

Armenian Prime Minster Tigran Sargsyan visited Golden Grape Armas wine and brandy factory under construction in Armenia’s city of Ashtarak.

According to director and owner of the factory Armen Aslanyan, the factory is upgrade with Italian equipment, with an Italian expert to assist in wine production.

“The factory construction is due to be finished by September,” Mr. Aslanyan said.

According to him, there will be 120-130 hectares of vineyards and 30-40 hectares of orchards surrounding the factory, with a cannery planned to be constructed in the future.

Mr. Aslanyan noted that construction of a stock farm and a fish pond is also planned.

Golden Grape Armas is one of the enterprises having been granted by government’s decision three-year deferment of VAT payment for the equipment imported. The company has made investment of AMD 6,6 bln for the organization of production.
