Six parties running for parliamentary elections due on May 6 came up with a joint statement.

“We, representatives of Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Democratic Party of Armenia, Communist Party of Armenia, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Orinats Yerkir, highlighting the quality of 2012 National Assembly elections and the need for proper oversight, basing on provisions of Articles 6, 48 and 67 of the Electoral Code of Armenia, decided to join our efforts to organize video shooting of the voting process in most polling stations, with no violation of the voting privacy,” the statement said.

Each party will submit the video coverage by their proxies to other signatory parties upon request.

“All other parties running for the parliament by proportional system are free to join this statement,” the document reads.

United Armenians, Heritage and Armenian National Congress did not sign the paper.
