ICES monitoring mission reports no gross violations at elections

The head of International expert Center of Electoral Systems (ICES) monitoring mission commented on the process of parliamentary elections in Armenia.

“The elections have proved well-organized so far with no gross violations noted,” Alexander Tsinker said, noting installation of video cameras at some polling stations as a positive sign. “However, we felt like in some constituencies the voters were being “helped”. Still, on the whole, the elections follow a normal course.”

The observer mission of International expert Center for Electoral Systems with 20 independent experts from EU member-countries, the U.S. and Israel, has been accredited by the Central Election Commission of Armenia at the May 6 parliamentary elections.
