OSCE observer: Armenia faces law enforcement-related problems

The Special Coordinator of short-term OSCE observer mission and the head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly delegation gave his assessment to the electoral process on May 6.

“In some respects, these elections were better than the previous ones, in others - the situation has remained unchanged and is in need of improvements,” Francois-Xavier de Donnea said.

In this context, he said that law enforcement-related problems may arise not only in regard to the electoral law, but also to the Electoral Code and traffic rules.

Head of the European Parliament delegation Krzysztof Lisek, in turn, voiced hope for the electoral law to be amended, saying that “poor-quality ink may still cause serous problems.”

Technical problems related to the use of ink arose during the election process.
