According to the data of 168 Hours paper, the authorities set to discuss the next coalition and opposition forces in the parliament right after the May 6 vote.

Two coalition options are under consideration now, the paper says, one involving the ruling Republic Party of Armenia (RPA), Orinats Yerkir and Heritage, and the other comprising RPA, Prosperous Armenia and Orinats Yerkir.

“Currently the authorities are considering the expediency of ousting Prosperous Armenia with its 36 deputy mandate sand large financial resources towards opposition, with less than a year left before the presidential elections in 2013,” 168 Hours reports.

According to the paper, President Serzh Sargsyan tries his best to prevent tensions between RPA and Prosperous Armenia from turning into confrontation.

RPA’s election office chief, ex-speaker Hovik Abrahamyan seeks further cooperation with Prosperous Armenia, while PM Tigran Sargsyan and his supporters disagree on this, paper reports.

For its part, Prosperous Armenia does not want a coalition with RPA if Tigran Sargsyan maintains his position, 168 Hours says adding that all these issues should be settled before the first session of the new National Assembly and resignation of the current cabinet by May 24.
