A member of Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc, Republic party leader Aram Sargsyan renounced his parliamentary seat. ANC member also didn’t rule out the possibility of leaving the bloc, citing certain political differences.

“Armenian parliament is no longer a political entity, having turned into an enabler of presidential will. I’m leaving, having no wish to stifle ANC members’ strivings with my realistic approach,” the Republic leader said.

According to Sargsyan, the Republic party members will soon discuss the format of further cooperation with ANC, with an official statement to be made next week.

The politician believes 90% of Armenia’s population to share oppositional views. “Only 20 people out of 90% cited will be represented at the parliament. I want to take to the streets with people and will do my best to make it happen,” Sargsyan said.
